Responsibilities: , o( |3 h+ g1 w! S8 U) h# |9 E
The imaging scientist will be responsible for developing architectures, algorithms, and implementation details for new advanced pixels.
9 V4 ~3 I+ w% S6 X9 {/ N% e6 e' W6 K. N& j; C7 l' h
1. Design and development of image processing algorithms such as demosaicing, denoising, edge-enhancement, bad pixel correction, high dynamic range imaging, adaptive tonal mapping, AE, AWB, AF, still/video image stabilization and other scene analysis based algorithms.
6 r: r5 p/ ?: q$ Y' n2. Work with an ASIC, CMOS process technology, advanced pixel design teams for optimal implementation.
; h1 h( }. ~5 P4 V; j6 j3. Design in machine vision such as statistical pattern classification, neural networking, scene analysis, facial recognition algorithms $ o* ^+ Y3 z# o. T- Z& e/ u. s
4. Perform system modeling of camera pipeline components, including imagers and digital image processing modules. . ?; S# Z9 n: ^
5. Perform signal analysis to evaluate quality of image processing algorithms and systems; Perform analysis and characterization of imaging sensors.

$ @$ A2 Y- ~- l: b& k; a Z n1. Ph.D. in Imaging Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Vision, or related fields : w' v; y+ B7 d9 H' {
2. In-depth knowledge of camera image processing pipeline 5 }) O. F) f) L3 B* R, P: S
3. Proficiency in C, C++ and / or Matlab coding to design and run simulations for complex image pipeline ! }4 {1 c+ v0 o
4. Background in image processing in related industries, such as digital still camera or surveillance camera is a plus
! H t6 v+ C2 U* Q. V6 {8 O; P5. Knowledge of hardware realization of the algorithms is a big plus 5 q8 ]% }8 X6 K- i
6. Team player with good communication and presentation skills.
