事情是這樣的 小弟目前是一年經驗的H/W QA
/ M; {2 A% M, i8 a4 [之前公司有個FAE離職 剛好小弟我有跟他那組的幾個RD合作過
所以之間都不錯 他們就問我有沒有想要來接FAE的位子

他們老闆竟然也說 ok  內轉想來就來壓 我一定說ok的 只要他老闆同意讓他來
5 _9 m* w. m) t$ n( g! d. ]* @雖然心裡當然是想 但是FAE是在做什麼我根本不知道
只知道要去客戶那邊被定(??  因為小弟只是私立後段的學士而已

5 Y" D1 p* ~/ W9 e! }  d) p8 s要學歷沒學歷 要專業沒專業 英文也是不太行
7 U% q6 x; p. D+ O6 v去那邊不就是死路一條!  還是說可以過去那邊邊做邊學

  X/ Q3 d" \3 k. f& U$ L) bFAE有辦法讓人邊做邊學嗎? 真的不太懂FAE耶

1.schematic review and design
原廠會提供參考線路及檢查要點，這參考線路通常都是由AE來設計，除此之外客戶
5 j  p% j; |9 B也會修改參考線路，所以還要針對客戶修改的線路加以檢查。
2.layout review
原廠也會提供參考的layout及檢查的要點，例如一些高速的匯流排及電源走線
: ^) k! U7 H5 C5 e$ W4 G都要特別注意，常常會影響晶片的性能。
3.Firmware/Software/Driver development
現在的IC公司基本上也要提供軟韌體的開發範例，這些範例也是由AE所開發出來的。

教育訓練，原廠AE很多機會對代理商及客戶進行產品訓練及展示。有些時候AE也會與
* w$ O% i+ y. `% x+ Nsales/marketing配合到客戶端去推銷產品。

IC廠會有許多的文件需要撰寫，包含datasheet，使用手冊...等，這些文件也是由AE
所提供出來的。此外也很多機會在一些雜誌及報紙上發表技術文章。

AE所需的技能：

; C4 N6 s; P/ }. m根據不同的客戶需求，常常需要開發各種不同的應用，因此常常需要學習新的領域。
; H2 F/ i2 u, ^& J快速的學習能力會是很重要的一個因素。
2.溝通能力
不同於R&D，AE有很多的時間是在與別人溝通。對內要與sales, marketing, PM, R&D等
溝通，對外要與客戶的R&D, PM或是合作廠商及代理商等溝通。良好的溝通能力會讓你的
工作事半功倍。
. H7 _: s5 Z2 R1 w6 @, l3.語言能力
! N, j- f1 n8 \5 J& W無論是台灣或是外國的IC廠商，英語能力都是不可或缺的必備能力。無論是聽說讀寫都
會常常使用到。不需要文辭優美文法正確，只要敢說敢講就可。
4.EQ能力
) ]( }! ?6 B% ]2 G' L. d& kAE是第一線的作戰人員，常常有機會會受到客戶或是內部的合理或是不合理責難。這時候
8 l) S; F) K# o8 k$ ?' F良好的EQ會是很重要的一個因素。此外不同於R&D，很多案子常常執行到一半就取消，會
' N3 n4 S; x3 O1 q# X) i常常有做白工的狀況，適時的調適自己的心情也是很重要的。

通常一個AE同時會要支援數個案子，所以如何有效的管理手上的案子，依照重要性來分配

AE的背景與出路：
; r% Z$ P0 H8 K) D  f6 f/ O& e背景：
, z0 M) \4 K. w% W; q目前觀察到的普遍來說AE的資歷都是比較淺的，很多同事都是在系統廠或是IC廠工作兩到
0 g& L. ]& g! T  R三年後轉職過來。如果是國外更是常常看到大學剛畢業就去做AE。以AE的工作性質還蠻適
合新人來試試看。可以了解IC產業的運作模式，及學習到許多新的知識。
出路：
  N  Z: u$ K! q! pAE的出路很廣，想往技術方面發展可以轉往系統廠或IC廠做software/hardware的R&D，想
* k3 k7 G! V$ o1 h2 f往行銷方面發展也可以轉去做sales/marketing，想往管理方面發展也可以轉去做PM。而且
5 y2 f0 Z; J2 X' QAE相對來說認識的人面也會比廣，只要做的好轉職會很容易。
1 A. }+ n0 ^; @$ k6 m+ d5 ?1 X薪水：
1 u7 L. ?' r( z4 y9 }  M1 X一般來說AE的薪水在IC廠內是比較低的，一般來說外商的職缺薪水排名會如下：

不過相對來說外商的AE進入難度也是這些職缺裡面最低的。

當初怎麼進來的? 我自己也很納悶 也感到很幸運

那時大學4年肄業 對於本科電子沒興趣 所以毅然決然的就去當兵了

+ H# H8 z5 A3 e9 o當兵前等到入伍的前兩個月 去家父任職的建築公司打工

6 N. \  g* A- G$ l. q$ N7 T每天8點前到工地 然後就是帶客戶看屋 驗屋 然後記錄需要改進
" e9 O8 B( h8 \- W) N5 q) c5 t
% u& K2 a. v- d0 T2 G* w+ X% p, C8 j或是客戶要求的事項 總之就像是工頭啦

; O5 c" K1 O1 B1 R雖然日曬雨林的 有時候中飯時間還會被屋主Call回去看屋

錄取這間公司也算是蠻有趣的一個過程
3 i: r* q$ B3 U5 h3 i
當初有兩間公司開了Offer給我 一個是某認證實驗室 另一個就是這間House

% S1 B! k& e5 q/ w9 {- o在面試這間公司的時候 沒考試 就只是跟主管聊天而已

聊的內容不外乎 學歷啦 動機啦 家庭背景 和一些基本專業知識

; k5 c  e. K; N) s7 X% Y專業知識也只問了一個Reset的問題 大概是我答的很快吧
/ j( i% ?( }! b
大頭很快的就給了口頭Offer 也就結束這個愉快的面試
( @, W4 [! w! G1 V; d
1 M7 T: F8 o/ w- F1 D接下來就是回家等通知嚕!!!!
( O* V: S: m( ~. m6 @
過了約兩個星期錄取通知寄來了 我就這樣開始了工程師的職涯

FAE做什麼? 我公司大概就是對內 畫電路 對電路 Layout 焊接 和軟韌體溝通及測試

對外的話就是去客戶那邊協助Debug 規畫硬體設計 以及通過相關認證

還有就是個人負責項目 主要就這3大類 總之就是打雜的

+ c/ r; M/ g% d  U我剛進公司的第一年真的就是打雜的 前輩做什麼就跟著做

! I/ b& n1 L  {( b在旁邊多看多問 或是幫忙做 這樣會上手的很快
8 ?. t  s: K$ t& I0 _

FAE不比一般RD只要把Code寫出來就好 會說話會溝通很重要

! P5 j0 f0 P1 {5 c# y由於有時候要幫忙Handle RD寫不出來時去跟客戶協調

! o3 t1 d# X, s5 `5 I總要想個光明正大的理由讓客戶覺得有在做只是因為...而拖延了

有時候又要在Sales和RD中間取得平衡 讓雙方都可以接受

因此會交際和實力一樣重要
5 z, V3 A- U- s, B; C
/ G$ R% d; ?7 H1 B! W( k有實力不會交際的FAE 只會被交付一些不重要的打雜工作

或是很賽客戶很刁的案子 要不就是負責的全是一些不重要的產品

# m: [$ c2 c7 E2 Q" ^# U1 N+ x& {因此想步入FAE的 先想想自己的交際能力如何 喇賽功力強不強

FAE需要的專業?

FAE可以說是最不需要也最需要的工作

零件的工作原理! 如何用最小最便宜的料件去兜成你所需要的電路
& b) d* Y3 M& `
% A- u5 @7 ]$ N2 q& E看的懂SPEC 可以減少很多設計和Debug的時間

專業知識夠的 可以用最少的時間用最適合的料件

3 q! l5 E4 O  Q8 y專業不夠的用以前的電路去兜 或是用最常見的也都是可以

: W. y  p# e1 I3 q差別只是在時間和成本 你的老闆重不重視就要看命了!!!

嘴砲技能點滿的 只要東西會動都是可以交差的
; a4 K2 S$ ?1 I$ g1 P
所以最需要的專業 應該是嘴砲技能...XD

FAE的發展

1 p9 X4 t% M- ~看自己要不要去更精進 英文能力好的 看的懂Code的
) \0 V9 n8 Z, I, X, v4 a6 `
: }5 V$ F) m6 }. C6 i( K加上人面廣要Sample時能很快的入手需求料件
" h2 L" y, W/ J1 I0 h+ @8 b
- k5 c, k: _8 @/ w以上三點是最主要的發展方向
( i# @2 @( E" k# S8 d* N! H# |1 Y
# R# m% C( h2 F若是腦經靈活 常常能想出不一樣的方法來解決問題 這點更是重要
$ D- a8 b. u- F  U: F( K! `3 l' a2 r
0 K8 |2 A" `1 ?3 A8 t7 ]7 C) N0 L( \因為有時候RD寫Code只會照著原本Rule來寫

- V6 t$ s! a5 T; A1 e若是能適時的提點RD 或是在硬體上Cover RD

FAE要求1.EQ要高，不然面對客戶的刁難或者責難如果沒有高EQ很難撐下去。2.要愛講話(善溝通)，才能當客戶與RD之間的橋梁、或者協調客戶與廠內。
