Responsibilities: : l" k( M7 ~& ^! r% [
The imaging scientist will be responsible for developing architectures, algorithms, and implementation details for new advanced pixels.
, |5 s1 `* a- K9 U4 `" W/ [* d8 Z/ W( r+ \9 j+ s& W- R1 _
1. Design and development of image processing algorithms such as demosaicing, denoising, edge-enhancement, bad pixel correction, high dynamic range imaging, adaptive tonal mapping, AE, AWB, AF, still/video image stabilization and other scene analysis based algorithms.
1 h7 C7 v/ h9 J* d2. Work with an ASIC, CMOS process technology, advanced pixel design teams for optimal implementation. # ~0 w4 N' i# p2 b+ R
3. Design in machine vision such as statistical pattern classification, neural networking, scene analysis, facial recognition algorithms
" W( H' g: j3 Z- ?4. Perform system modeling of camera pipeline components, including imagers and digital image processing modules. 6 p6 Z# P0 M. R
5. Perform signal analysis to evaluate quality of image processing algorithms and systems; Perform analysis and characterization of imaging sensors.

: J: {5 L2 I7 H ~. `9 `1. Ph.D. in Imaging Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Vision, or related fields 7 L* J5 p# C% T; e7 H Y4 N) Y
2. In-depth knowledge of camera image processing pipeline
7 v3 @. u' ^" `2 [; n& P) C3. Proficiency in C, C++ and / or Matlab coding to design and run simulations for complex image pipeline . X Z" n6 d, [
4. Background in image processing in related industries, such as digital still camera or surveillance camera is a plus 9 ]! [, [. L# H! L, h" [4 J
5. Knowledge of hardware realization of the algorithms is a big plus
