第一次聽到IEEE 1588 唉 ??? 什麼碗糕?
大致了解過後，喔 簡單說就是以前NTP(Netowork Time Protocol)的軟體時間解決方案的延伸加強版。使用硬體的方式將時間的精準度提升到1 ms。不僅可以可以在網通產品用，未來任何消費性產品要跨不同國家區域，就可以透過GPS的模組，自動更新時間的資訊，完全不需人為設定來指定時間。

The IEEE 1588 Standard Precision
Time Protocol (PTP) is being used by industrial automation applications for precise time synchronization (PTS) on Ethernet networks. PTS provides accurate time synchronization for distributed control nodes.

, ~0 z' ~" E! _9 p8 R0 J! @The IEEE 1588 precision time protocol handles synchronisation in industrial control systems to within less than a microsecond. This timing includes synchronising local clocks in sensors, actuators, and other terminal devices using the same network that also transports process data. The 1588 clock is used in a sensor in one of two ways. It can generate a timestamp at the moment the data is acquired or used as a mechanism to generate the acquisition trigger. Such precise timing is crucial to real time industrial Ethernet.
