虛擬觸覺及機器人應用研討會

二十一世紀人口老化的程度越來越嚴重，高齡化社會使得具生產力的人口結構產生變化，因而可以預知機器人將會快速地在人類科技世界中逐漸實現與應用。

目前世界各國皆投入大量資源從事智慧型機器人關鍵技術之開發，此技術與產業已被日本與韓國列為前瞻優先發展的新科技產業，並投入大量資金與人力積極發展。智慧型機器人也名列在我國行政院產業科技策略會議所訂之六大策略性科技產業中，今年將先提撥58億元投資這些策略性產業上，並將在五年內提撥近320億元。預估到2013年，台灣智慧型機器人年產值可達900億元。

　　智慧型機器人的關鍵技術涵蓋機械結構設計、馬達設計與控制、即時影像/語音處理、感測電路設計與實現、嵌入式系統軟硬體設計、微處理器應用與IC設計、智慧型控制技術、機電整合等專業知識，是一個需要跨學科整合才能有效發展的領域，如何透過圖控化的開發環境，以及硬體迴路控制(Hardware-in-the-loop, H.I.L.) 強大的線上除錯能力，藉此達到縮短產品的開發時程，將會對日後的自動控制產業挹注一股強大的助力。
因此，本研討會將涵蓋下列三大主題：

1.General introduction to Quanser with academic and product lineups
An introduction to Quanser, its technological focus, and its portfolio of research solutions in rapid control prototyping, haptics, and robotics.

2.Reconfigurable controller UAV technology
As part of a project currently underway for the Defense Research & Development Canada (DRDC), Quanser is using its expertise in real-time control hardware and software to provide a unique platform for the development of complex air-borne multi-vehicle missions. Achievements, current project status, and future challenges are presented.

3.Haptics for the healthcare industry
Haptics – the application of force-feedback to man-machine tactile interaction – is a rapidly growing sector within the medical engineering field, which offers some of the most promising applications for the technology. The presentation offers an overview of the current research topics, the main medical applications of the technology, their requirements, and their challenges.
