之前公司有個FAE離職 剛好小弟我有跟他那組的幾個RD合作過
所以之間都不錯 他們就問我有沒有想要來接FAE的位子

他們老闆竟然也說 ok  內轉想來就來壓 我一定說ok的 只要他老闆同意讓他來
雖然心裡當然是想 但是FAE是在做什麼我根本不知道
; w% [# `  L9 l' X0 b' F8 c只知道要去客戶那邊被定(??  因為小弟只是私立後段的學士而已

要學歷沒學歷 要專業沒專業 英文也是不太行
) z% g/ S. b, h# z去那邊不就是死路一條!  還是說可以過去那邊邊做邊學

FAE有辦法讓人邊做邊學嗎? 真的不太懂FAE耶

/ D$ e0 j1 H! V# ]( n- w9 o* w7 f原廠會提供參考線路及檢查要點，這參考線路通常都是由AE來設計，除此之外客戶
也會修改參考線路，所以還要針對客戶修改的線路加以檢查。
- f1 h- ~* p& `8 A2 }* D, c  z) p$ s2.layout review
原廠也會提供參考的layout及檢查的要點，例如一些高速的匯流排及電源走線
7 v0 [' A. P; ^- W- v5 s都要特別注意，常常會影響晶片的性能。
3.Firmware/Software/Driver development
現在的IC公司基本上也要提供軟韌體的開發範例，這些範例也是由AE所開發出來的。
4.Training
教育訓練，原廠AE很多機會對代理商及客戶進行產品訓練及展示。有些時候AE也會與
sales/marketing配合到客戶端去推銷產品。
5.Documentation
5 f3 o4 E7 `3 \' C# d% ~+ h/ QIC廠會有許多的文件需要撰寫，包含datasheet，使用手冊...等，這些文件也是由AE
! I# b4 p9 C# N$ X# Q6 [0 X所提供出來的。此外也很多機會在一些雜誌及報紙上發表技術文章。

AE所需的技能：

根據不同的客戶需求，常常需要開發各種不同的應用，因此常常需要學習新的領域。
快速的學習能力會是很重要的一個因素。
2.溝通能力
" ^8 {8 w3 [3 d( H1 S& S1 }7 R不同於R&D，AE有很多的時間是在與別人溝通。對內要與sales, marketing, PM, R&D等
5 }6 _9 V) Q4 x$ R6 k5 Y; o: D+ w溝通，對外要與客戶的R&D, PM或是合作廠商及代理商等溝通。良好的溝通能力會讓你的
, G0 W% U" F) a工作事半功倍。
3.語言能力
無論是台灣或是外國的IC廠商，英語能力都是不可或缺的必備能力。無論是聽說讀寫都
會常常使用到。不需要文辭優美文法正確，只要敢說敢講就可。
4.EQ能力
6 U0 q# K4 h4 @6 R/ gAE是第一線的作戰人員，常常有機會會受到客戶或是內部的合理或是不合理責難。這時候
良好的EQ會是很重要的一個因素。此外不同於R&D，很多案子常常執行到一半就取消，會
* J/ C5 e5 R1 m# X' z# o  c常常有做白工的狀況，適時的調適自己的心情也是很重要的。
5.多工及管理能力
通常一個AE同時會要支援數個案子，所以如何有效的管理手上的案子，依照重要性來分配

AE的背景與出路：

目前觀察到的普遍來說AE的資歷都是比較淺的，很多同事都是在系統廠或是IC廠工作兩到
1 s* v' D+ Z; `7 A& U" R" X三年後轉職過來。如果是國外更是常常看到大學剛畢業就去做AE。以AE的工作性質還蠻適
* u- G) l' e$ w7 x. S合新人來試試看。可以了解IC產業的運作模式，及學習到許多新的知識。
出路：
3 j5 ]5 W  E5 Q& oAE的出路很廣，想往技術方面發展可以轉往系統廠或IC廠做software/hardware的R&D，想
往行銷方面發展也可以轉去做sales/marketing，想往管理方面發展也可以轉去做PM。而且
6 J6 i4 |( o9 }' p' nAE相對來說認識的人面也會比廣，只要做的好轉職會很容易。
薪水：
$ A$ ]$ x7 `; U一般來說AE的薪水在IC廠內是比較低的，一般來說外商的職缺薪水排名會如下：
sales > marketing >= FAE > AE
不過相對來說外商的AE進入難度也是這些職缺裡面最低的。

分享一下工作正準備邁入第4年的 FAE工作心得
當初怎麼進來的? 我自己也很納悶 也感到很幸運

那時大學4年肄業 對於本科電子沒興趣 所以毅然決然的就去當兵了

當兵前等到入伍的前兩個月 去家父任職的建築公司打工

每天8點前到工地 然後就是帶客戶看屋 驗屋 然後記錄需要改進

或是客戶要求的事項 總之就像是工頭啦

3 o, _3 O) ^7 ]' t雖然日曬雨林的 有時候中飯時間還會被屋主Call回去看屋

錄取這間公司也算是蠻有趣的一個過程

聊的內容不外乎 學歷啦 動機啦 家庭背景 和一些基本專業知識

專業知識也只問了一個Reset的問題 大概是我答的很快吧

FAE做什麼? 我公司大概就是對內 畫電路 對電路 Layout 焊接 和軟韌體溝通及測試

還有就是個人負責項目 主要就這3大類 總之就是打雜的

FAE不比一般RD只要把Code寫出來就好 會說話會溝通很重要

6 w1 B  ^) N, F6 V由於有時候要幫忙Handle RD寫不出來時去跟客戶協調

有時候又要在Sales和RD中間取得平衡 讓雙方都可以接受

有實力不會交際的FAE 只會被交付一些不重要的打雜工作

FAE需要的專業?

FAE可以說是最不需要也最需要的工作

零件的工作原理! 如何用最小最便宜的料件去兜成你所需要的電路

看的懂SPEC 可以減少很多設計和Debug的時間

; q) \8 X) ^' ~' `7 ], }專業知識夠的 可以用最少的時間用最適合的料件

專業不夠的用以前的電路去兜 或是用最常見的也都是可以

差別只是在時間和成本 你的老闆重不重視就要看命了!!!

嘴砲技能點滿的 只要東西會動都是可以交差的

由於 FAE接觸的層面很廣 能學到的東西相對的非常多

看自己要不要去更精進 英文能力好的 看的懂Code的

以上三點是最主要的發展方向

若是腦經靈活 常常能想出不一樣的方法來解決問題 這點更是重要

0 C$ R8 A3 N7 W+ n# @/ C0 e- }因為有時候RD寫Code只會照著原本Rule來寫

若是能適時的提點RD 或是在硬體上Cover RD
