事情是這樣的 小弟目前是一年經驗的H/W QA
之前公司有個FAE離職 剛好小弟我有跟他那組的幾個RD合作過
所以之間都不錯 他們就問我有沒有想要來接FAE的位子

6 H" O8 R4 a3 O他們老闆竟然也說 ok  內轉想來就來壓 我一定說ok的 只要他老闆同意讓他來
雖然心裡當然是想 但是FAE是在做什麼我根本不知道
: S7 V' y8 l+ r- L' _( u' Z只知道要去客戶那邊被定(??  因為小弟只是私立後段的學士而已

要學歷沒學歷 要專業沒專業 英文也是不太行
去那邊不就是死路一條!  還是說可以過去那邊邊做邊學

AE工作內容：

, J! e* C$ r# T! V% F5 C原廠會提供參考線路及檢查要點，這參考線路通常都是由AE來設計，除此之外客戶
& m8 X# J' P' a* V5 R也會修改參考線路，所以還要針對客戶修改的線路加以檢查。
! f- B; ]) [8 G/ K2.layout review
原廠也會提供參考的layout及檢查的要點，例如一些高速的匯流排及電源走線
0 Z4 U' F% C( K* D+ z都要特別注意，常常會影響晶片的性能。
3.Firmware/Software/Driver development
現在的IC公司基本上也要提供軟韌體的開發範例，這些範例也是由AE所開發出來的。
4.Training
教育訓練，原廠AE很多機會對代理商及客戶進行產品訓練及展示。有些時候AE也會與
- O' z2 u4 ?! fsales/marketing配合到客戶端去推銷產品。

IC廠會有許多的文件需要撰寫，包含datasheet，使用手冊...等，這些文件也是由AE

AE所需的技能：

% j, W! l/ Y  ?7 m) ^) u; z8 a根據不同的客戶需求，常常需要開發各種不同的應用，因此常常需要學習新的領域。
快速的學習能力會是很重要的一個因素。
+ P, C3 ~: ~1 H5 d) H- y* `2.溝通能力
不同於R&D，AE有很多的時間是在與別人溝通。對內要與sales, marketing, PM, R&D等
溝通，對外要與客戶的R&D, PM或是合作廠商及代理商等溝通。良好的溝通能力會讓你的
- Y& F( Q$ F5 l1 W  `. k工作事半功倍。
3.語言能力
' ^2 v4 R$ _  r4 W/ y0 n無論是台灣或是外國的IC廠商，英語能力都是不可或缺的必備能力。無論是聽說讀寫都
- A  [, ]+ H' _+ S+ Y' J- z會常常使用到。不需要文辭優美文法正確，只要敢說敢講就可。
4.EQ能力
+ P4 \( V% T6 j3 G- jAE是第一線的作戰人員，常常有機會會受到客戶或是內部的合理或是不合理責難。這時候
, B5 A. `1 P. I+ y" G8 b良好的EQ會是很重要的一個因素。此外不同於R&D，很多案子常常執行到一半就取消，會
" f. u1 b! x) A+ \0 `3 e2 C常常有做白工的狀況，適時的調適自己的心情也是很重要的。

通常一個AE同時會要支援數個案子，所以如何有效的管理手上的案子，依照重要性來分配
時間及資源也是很重要的。

AE的背景與出路：
+ K1 D8 _1 v% e+ m& J4 o" \背景：
目前觀察到的普遍來說AE的資歷都是比較淺的，很多同事都是在系統廠或是IC廠工作兩到
三年後轉職過來。如果是國外更是常常看到大學剛畢業就去做AE。以AE的工作性質還蠻適
合新人來試試看。可以了解IC產業的運作模式，及學習到許多新的知識。
& b2 O4 a4 ^# D( Q; D出路：
4 c5 S1 k& Z3 Y- `3 [  s; g2 _AE的出路很廣，想往技術方面發展可以轉往系統廠或IC廠做software/hardware的R&D，想
往行銷方面發展也可以轉去做sales/marketing，想往管理方面發展也可以轉去做PM。而且
AE相對來說認識的人面也會比廣，只要做的好轉職會很容易。
+ m. V0 F* O& i: d& {薪水：
一般來說AE的薪水在IC廠內是比較低的，一般來說外商的職缺薪水排名會如下：
sales > marketing >= FAE > AE
不過相對來說外商的AE進入難度也是這些職缺裡面最低的。

當初怎麼進來的? 我自己也很納悶 也感到很幸運

當兵前等到入伍的前兩個月 去家父任職的建築公司打工

雖然日曬雨林的 有時候中飯時間還會被屋主Call回去看屋

錄取這間公司也算是蠻有趣的一個過程

% l6 h# p1 l$ E1 J  m3 J當初有兩間公司開了Offer給我 一個是某認證實驗室 另一個就是這間House

在面試這間公司的時候 沒考試 就只是跟主管聊天而已

聊的內容不外乎 學歷啦 動機啦 家庭背景 和一些基本專業知識

專業知識也只問了一個Reset的問題 大概是我答的很快吧

大頭很快的就給了口頭Offer 也就結束這個愉快的面試

接下來就是回家等通知嚕!!!!

FAE做什麼? 我公司大概就是對內 畫電路 對電路 Layout 焊接 和軟韌體溝通及測試

對外的話就是去客戶那邊協助Debug 規畫硬體設計 以及通過相關認證

0 G& ]0 h+ }. x8 L7 D6 z還有就是個人負責項目 主要就這3大類 總之就是打雜的

我剛進公司的第一年真的就是打雜的 前輩做什麼就跟著做

在旁邊多看多問 或是幫忙做 這樣會上手的很快


FAE不比一般RD只要把Code寫出來就好 會說話會溝通很重要

  j& W; f- m  i由於有時候要幫忙Handle RD寫不出來時去跟客戶協調

總要想個光明正大的理由讓客戶覺得有在做只是因為...而拖延了

7 Y) K: Z9 O# z% I8 {+ u有時候又要在Sales和RD中間取得平衡 讓雙方都可以接受

因此會交際和實力一樣重要

9 k; G4 @. O$ V+ Q/ P" B, X# r. J. Z有實力不會交際的FAE 只會被交付一些不重要的打雜工作

. w3 J4 v( ^! W1 ]1 f: b或是很賽客戶很刁的案子 要不就是負責的全是一些不重要的產品

9 \( d7 d; w8 P% I; ?因此想步入FAE的 先想想自己的交際能力如何 喇賽功力強不強

再來才是考慮自己的專業能力夠不夠

FAE需要的專業?

, u! y% p7 M) L5 q- x5 u6 YFAE可以說是最不需要也最需要的工作

! a1 B* e/ c  |, Z& x零件的工作原理! 如何用最小最便宜的料件去兜成你所需要的電路

0 d- U% y  d5 M- x+ s看的懂SPEC 可以減少很多設計和Debug的時間

專業知識夠的 可以用最少的時間用最適合的料件

' |  `" k* B' D  h. `9 Z1 l專業不夠的用以前的電路去兜 或是用最常見的也都是可以

差別只是在時間和成本 你的老闆重不重視就要看命了!!!

嘴砲技能點滿的 只要東西會動都是可以交差的

所以最需要的專業 應該是嘴砲技能...XD

看自己要不要去更精進 英文能力好的 看的懂Code的

6 N" e3 q$ h+ |, V. Z3 N加上人面廣要Sample時能很快的入手需求料件

以上三點是最主要的發展方向

* d- c; Q; A+ U; B# e若是腦經靈活 常常能想出不一樣的方法來解決問題 這點更是重要

若是能適時的提點RD 或是在硬體上Cover RD
