事情是這樣的 小弟目前是一年經驗的H/W QA
之前公司有個FAE離職 剛好小弟我有跟他那組的幾個RD合作過
所以之間都不錯 他們就問我有沒有想要來接FAE的位子

, \# b6 S9 P1 T( R( u他們老闆竟然也說 ok  內轉想來就來壓 我一定說ok的 只要他老闆同意讓他來
0 C% M) G. q8 T' J雖然心裡當然是想 但是FAE是在做什麼我根本不知道
只知道要去客戶那邊被定(??  因為小弟只是私立後段的學士而已

* W- o/ a* w" E( g要學歷沒學歷 要專業沒專業 英文也是不太行
去那邊不就是死路一條!  還是說可以過去那邊邊做邊學

原廠會提供參考線路及檢查要點，這參考線路通常都是由AE來設計，除此之外客戶
- D! E6 d8 K! F; G+ p# c( `也會修改參考線路，所以還要針對客戶修改的線路加以檢查。
2.layout review
原廠也會提供參考的layout及檢查的要點，例如一些高速的匯流排及電源走線
* q; C- n6 J! H- n2 c都要特別注意，常常會影響晶片的性能。
$ |7 z$ Y6 r+ E. ]0 Z% {$ {: L3.Firmware/Software/Driver development
- e0 U7 H& x& \1 I8 J6 `5 c現在的IC公司基本上也要提供軟韌體的開發範例，這些範例也是由AE所開發出來的。
4.Training
9 m( M9 {- v* k* u' v; _教育訓練，原廠AE很多機會對代理商及客戶進行產品訓練及展示。有些時候AE也會與
& U& g( ~  p# Psales/marketing配合到客戶端去推銷產品。
5.Documentation
: c- K5 @3 \  b+ J, GIC廠會有許多的文件需要撰寫，包含datasheet，使用手冊...等，這些文件也是由AE

AE所需的技能：
8 \* B3 i% C* `3 V! A1.學習能力
根據不同的客戶需求，常常需要開發各種不同的應用，因此常常需要學習新的領域。
快速的學習能力會是很重要的一個因素。
2.溝通能力
不同於R&D，AE有很多的時間是在與別人溝通。對內要與sales, marketing, PM, R&D等
溝通，對外要與客戶的R&D, PM或是合作廠商及代理商等溝通。良好的溝通能力會讓你的
工作事半功倍。
3.語言能力
無論是台灣或是外國的IC廠商，英語能力都是不可或缺的必備能力。無論是聽說讀寫都
5 N6 B; \& R  \會常常使用到。不需要文辭優美文法正確，只要敢說敢講就可。
4.EQ能力
AE是第一線的作戰人員，常常有機會會受到客戶或是內部的合理或是不合理責難。這時候
良好的EQ會是很重要的一個因素。此外不同於R&D，很多案子常常執行到一半就取消，會
$ I  ~0 p5 {& _/ D常常有做白工的狀況，適時的調適自己的心情也是很重要的。
5.多工及管理能力
通常一個AE同時會要支援數個案子，所以如何有效的管理手上的案子，依照重要性來分配
$ n: C( M% d1 S: w0 o: F時間及資源也是很重要的。

AE的背景與出路：
背景：
目前觀察到的普遍來說AE的資歷都是比較淺的，很多同事都是在系統廠或是IC廠工作兩到
三年後轉職過來。如果是國外更是常常看到大學剛畢業就去做AE。以AE的工作性質還蠻適
合新人來試試看。可以了解IC產業的運作模式，及學習到許多新的知識。
9 Y- W7 \# @0 C( J4 ~出路：
AE的出路很廣，想往技術方面發展可以轉往系統廠或IC廠做software/hardware的R&D，想
2 Y5 H0 h" |& w" X# W往行銷方面發展也可以轉去做sales/marketing，想往管理方面發展也可以轉去做PM。而且
% F% c: u* G/ B- V- v4 HAE相對來說認識的人面也會比廣，只要做的好轉職會很容易。
: h9 y+ v7 }. h薪水：
8 N) ^$ w) Z2 V% n5 e9 @, z7 U一般來說AE的薪水在IC廠內是比較低的，一般來說外商的職缺薪水排名會如下：
sales > marketing >= FAE > AE
不過相對來說外商的AE進入難度也是這些職缺裡面最低的。

以上是一般IC廠的AE資訊，系統廠的AE又會有不同的角色及工作內容，有待有經驗者分享

當初怎麼進來的? 我自己也很納悶 也感到很幸運

那時大學4年肄業 對於本科電子沒興趣 所以毅然決然的就去當兵了

6 l1 j! f! z7 ]3 p當兵前等到入伍的前兩個月 去家父任職的建築公司打工

每天8點前到工地 然後就是帶客戶看屋 驗屋 然後記錄需要改進

  W& g7 Y8 L0 @. ~, A$ e或是客戶要求的事項 總之就像是工頭啦

% ~6 G$ u+ v  q& }* C雖然日曬雨林的 有時候中飯時間還會被屋主Call回去看屋

但是由於會接觸到各式各樣的人 其實也算收穫頗多

錄取這間公司也算是蠻有趣的一個過程

在面試這間公司的時候 沒考試 就只是跟主管聊天而已

+ d1 \& G' `  x9 p$ H5 L聊的內容不外乎 學歷啦 動機啦 家庭背景 和一些基本專業知識

專業知識也只問了一個Reset的問題 大概是我答的很快吧

FAE做什麼? 我公司大概就是對內 畫電路 對電路 Layout 焊接 和軟韌體溝通及測試

還有就是個人負責項目 主要就這3大類 總之就是打雜的

我剛進公司的第一年真的就是打雜的 前輩做什麼就跟著做

在旁邊多看多問 或是幫忙做 這樣會上手的很快

由於有時候要幫忙Handle RD寫不出來時去跟客戶協調

總要想個光明正大的理由讓客戶覺得有在做只是因為...而拖延了

有時候又要在Sales和RD中間取得平衡 讓雙方都可以接受

FAE需要的專業?

0 ^/ T" x' W! J" U$ JFAE可以說是最不需要也最需要的工作

零件的工作原理! 如何用最小最便宜的料件去兜成你所需要的電路

' N1 }" f% y# `) E0 v+ s& ?% X6 k1 O# h看的懂SPEC 可以減少很多設計和Debug的時間

+ W; N3 T+ I. F* M- T( W+ k  p) }專業知識夠的 可以用最少的時間用最適合的料件

專業不夠的用以前的電路去兜 或是用最常見的也都是可以

差別只是在時間和成本 你的老闆重不重視就要看命了!!!

FAE的發展

由於 FAE接觸的層面很廣 能學到的東西相對的非常多

! y+ E8 ]% X. p4 D6 X看自己要不要去更精進 英文能力好的 看的懂Code的

加上人面廣要Sample時能很快的入手需求料件

. A2 y! B; L3 a5 N/ b% r+ J1 D以上三點是最主要的發展方向

若是腦經靈活 常常能想出不一樣的方法來解決問題 這點更是重要

' F# N; i, z* n, |2 d# w; D2 Y4 d3 U因為有時候RD寫Code只會照著原本Rule來寫

: {  e, u8 x9 D0 |9 |* E若是能適時的提點RD 或是在硬體上Cover RD

對於整體的工作效率會有很大的幫助 一點小小的淺見
